Machine - Re-design - Rebuild
This was a project that my client was wanting to get to for a long time, but could not find a single contractor capable of completing the project. Not only was there no documentation with the machine, but it also sustained some significant damage during transport.
The requirements were to convert the machine from running on 3 phase power to single phase, assemble all the components in a way that would fit their tight space requirements, and to make sure the hydraulics were functional for their process.
After the project was complete, the client had a machine that was customized to their needs, at approximately 1/3rd the cost of a new machine.
Custom Machine Control Box
Design - Build - Program - Install - Commission
This client was modifying an existing machine to prototype a new manufacturing process. They needed a control box designed for their needs. I used my CAD software to design the box and layout. Then I made it real by assembling the components and wiring them together. Finally, I brought it to life by programing the PLC with custom code to monitor and run the machine.

Control Modernization
This particular machine was plagued with problems that stemmed from its outdated, pieced-together control system. I removed the majority of the analog circuitry and replaced it with a simple industrial micro-controller. This eliminated the majority of the problems with this machine significantly reducing their down time.
Flexible Conduit Cutter

This machine was designed to help a production company cut down on man hours needed for assembly. This cutter would measure out and cut the conduit as needed so that the workers could spend their time doing more difficult tasks. This machine could measure and cut the flexible steel conduit 5-10 times the speed of a worker depending on the size that was being cut.
Urethane Mold
Custom design - 3D Printing - CNC Machining
This mold was for a client who was designing a new cast urethane part. They were quoted $2500 - $3000 for a mold machined out of metal. The problem is that the design was not tested and they were unsure if they would have to change it. I was able to 3D print a small batch mold out of a poly-carbonate / polyester blend of material for $700. This material was able to handle the heat of the urethane casting process and also had a bit of flexibility to help release the part when it was done. They produced about 30 pieces for testing and the mold was still in good shape. After the successful trial, I machined a more rugged mold with an updated design out of a solid piece of urethane on my CNC mill. This option was still a more affordable option than aluminum because of the size of the mold.

Custom Design and Build
This self-centering clamp set up was made so that different thicknesses of material could be drilled on center with a gang drill-press set up. There are also slots machined in the plates to allow for pneumatic stops to be installed to make the process of lining up your material even easier. By request, all control logic was done pneumatically so that no electrical power was needed.

By combining CAD software, my CNC laser cutter and a small manual pan and box break, we can produce a wide range of sheet metal parts.
Laser Cutting and Engraving
With my CNC Lasers, I can cut and engrave a very wide variety of materials. I have cut out large wood letters for signs, engraved stainless steel plates for presentations, and many other things. If you live in the Claresholm area there is a chance that you have already seen my work.
